TART Trails Director Julie Clark will briefly introduce the concept of complete streets and share two public service announcements created this past summer to raise awareness of what it means to have a connected community with transportation choices. "This is an opportunity for local officials to understand what complete streets mean, and how their implementation benefits a community,” said Clark. Why is it important for officials to consider a complete streets approach to planning and implementation? According to Clark, "In addition to the more obvious health and environmental benefits, a complete transportation network is a critical part of an economic development strategy for the region." Light refreshments will be available at 5:30 and the program will begin at 6pm. The discussion is open to the public and there will be time at the end for questions and answers.
