The Grand Vision Scorecard

At the Kalkaska WorkshopThe Grand Vision Scorecard is the focal point of the Grand Vision Decision, a concentrated three-week long public participation process seeking more than 15,000 citizen responses to select a final Grand Vision growth strategy for the region.

The Scorecard will present four alternative growth strategies, along with detailed information about the costs and benefits of each. These alternatives are developed and based on the values information collected from in-depth survey of the region citizens. What they value and how they believe growth should be accommodated in the years to come.

The alternative scenarios will be developed by the consultant team based on this input from more than 2,000 citizen participants who attended 11 regional workshops.

I received a post card instructing me to go online for "your scorecard" which I am to fill out. Can't find anything on the website that indicates it is a "scorecard" or looks like something I might fill out.

I'm as confused as Bonnie Willings. Where IS the scorecard. I guess I'll have to use gas and make a trip to one of the centers in Kalkaska to obtain it. Why send a postcard saying the scorecard is on-line when it isn't?

Being a participant in the original Grand Vision workshop and a planning commision member of a Twp.of Kalkaska I too am wondering about this "scorecard". Not on line? What were the printing costs of this mailing?

We need more jobs for the younger generation and closer shopping for Antrim and Kalkaska counties, A Walmart Super Center in Mancelona would be nice, and supply a lot of jobs also.

"The Grand Vision Decision begins next week! On Oct. 7 we will start asking friends and neighbors across our six counties to fill out a “scorecard” that will allow us to settle on a plan for how we manage growth for the next 50 years."

I guess it isn't ready yet!

Sorry for any lack of clarity.

The scorecards will be available online and at locations all around the region on October 7th!

I was also frustrated. However, to look on the positive side, you should make a link or announcement on the main page in the mean time that says scorcard available Oct 7th! Obviously people care enough to look for it, so follow through to help further the Grand Vision that we are all looking forward to!

One of the most important actions that I feel should be taken is to stop, or greatly restrict, the nature of development and growth along the US 31 South entrance into Traverse City from north of Chums Corners. We still have a fairly “green belt” entrance from south of the Buffalo pasture locations to Sam’s Club and the Grand Traverse Mall. The views coming over and down the hill to the mall show the Bay and this still remains a beautiful entrance into Traverse City. Every effort should be made to keep it that way. This is, in my opinion, an appropriate area to purchase the “development rights” from the property owners, if that could be made an option.

I'll look for the scorecard on Mon Oct 7th. I was also spending a lot of time looking for it... Can't wait. I also second Gene's above comment and what a great vision. I remember when the state rest area pull off was there. It is a most "spactabulas" view of our community. Thanks Gene for the vision...

I'm guessing that the scorecard isn't available until after the kick-off in a week or so?? I, too, spent quite a bit of time trying to find it here on your site ,... would have been nice to know it's not here yet.

I received a postcard stating "Your Voice is Critical" only to find out that the only night scheduled for the "kickoff" is Sold Out. Additionally, as the prior post states, there are no "scoreboards" to be found - so, how critical is our voice REALLY ? Why not schedule another night at the State Theater for the rest of us?!

Where is the scorecard? I wasted about 30 minutes trying to find it. No wonder you can't get anything correct in TC. Are there morons writing your web pages? Ok people, let someone or anyone know that this is why Traverse City is so overgrown. They all have their head up their ........

Speaking as one of the morons writing the web page, I'd like to apologize for not being clear enough. We did have a very large banner and bold text on the home page and a comment here all stating that the scorecard would be online today (Tuesday, October 7) but we should probably have posted something on this page too. My apologies.

Please do keep in mind that problems on the web site don't really have anything to do with the overall process (and also that the site is produced by a Leelanau County company).

In any case, The Scorecard is now online, and here is the link.
