There was one thing that everyone agreed on at last night's forum at the City Opera House: Traverse City Light and Power's goal to have 30 percent local, renewable energy sources by 2020 (billed as 30x20) is a great thing.

In internet news this week, Traverse City Light and Power has decided to explore the option of providing free wireless internet to Traverse City.
The Record-Eagle has this story:

There will be a free workshop on biomass energy generation Thursday, January 21.

The wind turbine on M-72, west of Traverse City, has been shutdown the past three months after it was discovered a generator bearing and shaft were broken. On Jan. 12, the Traverse City Light and Power board voted to fix the wind turbine.
