Regional Land Use, Transportation Study Unveils Name, Logo, Website

(Grand Traverse County, Michigan) - The Grand Vision is the name of the new Land Use & Transportation Study (Study) for the Grand Traverse Region. The name, along with a logo and website URL (www.thegrandvision.org) was introduced last night (Tuesday, September 11) during public information sessions held at the Waterfront Conference Center in Traverse City. Attendees were told that Study activities, as originally begun by the TC-TALUS (Traverse City Transportation And Land Use Study) organization and guided by the citizen-led LUTS committee (Land Use and Transportation Study), would now be known simply as The Grand Vision. The Study team said a new, single name would help differentiate this project from past plans, especially since the team is focusing on outcomes for the new Study that can be implemented by citizens, elected officials and government agencies in the region.

The words, “The Grand Vision” are seen in a logo accompanied by various shapes, in shades of green and blue, that symbolically represent land, pathways and water. The words “Land Use & Transportation Strategy” appear as smaller words in white on a navy blue background at the bottom of the logo.

The website, www.thegrandvision.org currently includes answers to frequently asked questions about The Grand Vision study and will feature more content once various scenarios are formed during public workshops.

NOTE to Media: A color image of the new logo is available upon request by e-mailing Knorr Marketing at PRpix@knorrmarketing.com and stating preferences for computer platform (PC or Mac?), resolution (300 dpi?), file format (.tif? .jpg? .eps?) and file size (1MB or less?). Or, phone (231) 947-9707.
