Unemployment Rates Rose In December

For the following counties that make up the northwest region labor market (Antrim, Benzie, Charlevoix, Emmet, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska, Leelanau, Manistee, Missaukee and Wexford) the seasonally unadjusted jobless rate was 16.2 percent, up from 14.8 in November. Michigan's unemployment rate increased from 14.1 to 14.3 percent.
