IPR's Points North: TC Buses Supported But Empty
This morning (Mar 5), Points North on Interlochen Public Radio (91.5 FM) had as their guest Jim Lively, who serves as the Chair of the Grand Vision Transit Subcommittee, which is apart of the Grand Vision Transportation working group. Bill Palladino of Krios Consulting was also a guest on the program. Krios Consulting conducted a regional opinion survey for BATA last year.
The topic? Traverse City Buses and regional transit options.
From the IPR website:
"Lots of people around the Grand Traverse region say public transportation is important. In an opinion survey last year, 80 percent of the respondents said we should invest in public bus service even if it means spending less money on roads. There is even talk these days of a light rail system. But few of us actually ride the buses we have. Why not? Can you have good public transportation in a rural area or small city? "
You can catch a rebroadcast of this show at 9pm tonight (Mar 5) or listen to it at the IPR website.
